The classics then were quite amazed,
That Kingdom’s place was unaffected
And Sally’s smile was just detected!
It’s great to see B39
She’s sailing well and looking fine.
And Harriett’s a delightful treat
A great addition to the fleet.
Not just because she’s young and pretty
That she’s been added to this ditty.
The triangles were such hard work
Up kite, down kite - we didn’t shirk.
Black flags, dire warnings- all were given
And into Countdown some were driven.
Six at the back with Columbine
Scored DNF- right out of time.
The Christchurch Ledge had lovely weather,
Most in the strong flood bunched together.
It all looked good ‘till rounding Hurst.
I bet those 10 boats really cursed
That wind shadow against the tide.
For hours they seemed trapped by its side.
Aurora then went hard aground.
They all jumped off but then they found
The keel was jammed ‘tween rocks they’d hit.
A voice rang out- ‘on no, oh sh..ugar’
Well done to Mistral- what a coup-
You beat them all- and last year too.
Those flukey winds found at the back-
Meant first time ever- we beat TAK!
