Cloud Cuckoo’s owners seem just great-
So eager to participate.
J24s they used to race
Quite often winning that first place.
On Monday’s long West Solent race
We beat them into 20th place.
They’re pretty miffed that they weren’t quick
A midweek scrub just did the trick!

Now local knowledge in West Wight
Is very handy, saves the plight
Of grounding hard like David Fox
Just out the harbour on the rocks.
So Bossa Nova downed her sails
And then we heard the taxi hails-
Which wizzed out, pulled them off real quick-
Shows local influence does the trick!

Now Cidron Too you look fantastic,
With bright new teak and gleaming plastic.
You’re sailing well with Vic and Penny,
No tiffs, no shouting -no, not any.
Your Dad would be so proud to see
His Cidron sailed by family.

The Long Solent saw Tortoise, slick,
His kite was up and down real quick.
But at the front you must take care
Your nav might cause you grief- beware!
They missed a mark- oh what bad luck,
Enough to make the crew say ff.....fiddle!

Then Kingdom Come on Tuesday’s race
Gained yet another great first place.
Despite mistaking 4 for 8
