The Folkboat numbers grew and grew.
On this her 80th year we see,
Continuing popularity.

Now Bernie’s been so near to tears
For he’s just spent neigh on three years
With fittings new and varnish bright
He fettled Yo- Ho every night.
Look now on YouTube -don’t you fail,
There’s Yo- Ho gleaming up for sale!

The Christchurch Ledge had warnings dire.
That down-tide start - don’t take a flyer.
We’re all on port as Cidron’s squeezed
Into the pin end - he’s not pleased!
Eala said the race was boring
And someone said they heard him snoring!

And Bossa Nova luffed by Riot
Believed his cruise would prove quite quiet
But at the Ledge it proved quite fraught
As rounding boats caught lots on port!

The Classics seemed quite circumspect
And Carlinetta sent regret.
For she can’t sail down here this year.
And Dave has shed a little tear.
Her keel fell off- oh what bad luck
Forgive him if he said-‘ Oh F—Fiddle.’

The 80th race was much more fun.
Again Ed Donald got the gun.
Way out in front, he sits quite still
And Madelaine slips along until
