Folkboat Week Ditty 2016
I think of Bernard looking down
And giving me a little frown.
‘For god’s sake Christine, get a grip,
My boat’s aground, so take a dip –
And push her off – you can’t sit there
Where is your bottle? – I despair!’
For Bernard we had called a TOT,
And in his memory drank a lot.
Bernard, who’s given us the most –
We brushed our tears and gave a toast.
This week’s had too much wind – then none.
For Jeremy, that’s not much fun.
He coped with courses with a great calm
Till Madge caused him some great alarm.
She said the courses were too long –
For doggies bladders are not strong
As
Jaramas
sails around the sea,
The doggies might just have to pee!
So calculating wind and tide,
The CRO must then decide
To factor in a doggie break,
It’s quite a task for goodness sake!
The ROs we must soundly cheer –
Our grateful thanks from all us here.
We’ll raise a glass and give a toast
‘The RSYC, our great host!’
Folkboats Forever!
