Phoenix of Cowes FB169
The Association has had an enquiry from Canada as to the history of ‘Phoenix of
Cowes’. The secretary could not tell the enquirer very much, except that she was built
by R & A Hamper of Farham in 1963 and registered as FB169. We lost touch with the
boat in 1971 when she was bought by someone in Yorkshire who did not become a
member. The enquirer in Canada thinks she was sailed across the Atlantic some 30 to
40 years ago. He has pictures of the boat in 2005 and has taken one of her now. Does
anyone have any further information about this boat, especially how she got to
Canada?
