We did quite well that second race,
Around about a 13th place.
But at the finish - oh by heck,
With Madelene we’re neck and neck.
She had been leading- well in front
But then performed a loosing stunt
Round number 5 they neatly tack
But it took ages to get back.
The wrong buoy downtide, what a shame.
But seemed quite laid back all the same!
The first and second race Raeve won,
So satisfying and great fun.
Next day we saw them do a turn,
What was that for- I later learn,
On WhatsApp, Mark had to admit,
That Riot he had firmly hit.
Now YSA looks so smart and gleaming
She creams along with bow wave streaming.
I’ve never seen her go so quick
With skilful Jacki on the stick.
Celia, Hanna and Harry crew,
All know exactly what to do,
To help him judge the wind just right,
Tom makes sure fags are well alight.
Now Monday morn was misty calm,
Aurora couldn’t come to harm,
But someone yelled ‘watch out -ahoy’
They hit the Harbour East red buoy.
The CRO just tore his hair,
Delay too long- he couldn’t dare,
Storm Francis proved more than a hitch
And Tuesday’s race he had to ditch.
The tide was flooding winds grew strong,
The fleet split up- who’s right, who’s wrong.
The island group ahead just eased,
Which must have made them mighty pleased.
The Madelene crew creamed clear away,
And got the whole thing right today.
Two firsts- no problem- miles ahead
They left the rest of us for dead.
