Folkboat Week Ditty 2018

N
ow Samphire, in irons at a buoy
Heard someone yell ‘look out, ahoy’
And then he heard a mighty crack
And Sally landed in his lap!.
G
ood Shepherd seemed to be quite busy
It looks as if they’re getting dizzy.
The Solent water froths and churns
As they do six 360 turns!
T
hen Dr Bob, who sets the kite
On Jaramas - held on real tight,
But got swept off into the briny
And grabbed the side which seemed quite slimy
‘Cos varnish isn’t good to hold
With fingers that are wet and cold.
But Bernie caught him as he passed,
Determined that they won’t come last.
T
he long Solent looked pretty rough
And I’m quite sure I’d had enough.
The poor ROs got churned about
And spilled their coffee, theres no doubt.
And while we’re out there in the tide
With howling winds no place to hide,
Poor Sky had grounded hard. and so-
Asked Marksman nicely for a tow.
He couldn’t find them - dearie me.
A shame that Nordics cant brew tea!
G
reat thanks to all the ROs here
We’ll come again, if asked next year.
So raise your glasses - give a toast-
‘Our sponsors and the club, our host’
