n Gasworks Lane - there in the yard
Was Chris on Ajax working hard.
Raeve’s bottom he had much admired,
So he scrubbed on ’til he expired.
I felt both bottoms- dearie me
Poor Columbine’s is quite rusty.

ow Folkboat Week has quite a fleet,
With 40 boats here to compete.
The Cruisers- sorry ‘Classics' here
Look pristine, perfect year on year.

olkdance and Jaramas just gleam
With Kingdom Come in racing green,
And Spiritus looks super fine
With smooth white hull and gold cove line.

lue Mist’s a lovely wooden boat,
But when she launched she didn’t float.
The water lapped her gunnels, so
Sue, Roger, Carmel pumped the flow.
They’re bravely racing, won’t give up
And sadly she’s not taking up.
But she’s a handsome Husband boat
Which turns all heads, I have to note.
O
n Sunday morn a hoolie blew
With lumpy seas, but we all knew
Our chief RO would set two races
And we approached with scary faces.
But what relief, theres no denying
No kites allowed - the R flag’s flying.
S
ome boats just seem to have the knack,
To scream ahead- like Crackerjack.
And Raeve and Ajax, Mistral, Tak,
We only see them from the back.
