P. 4
Editorial
Once again, I have failed to get the Yearbook out as early as I would have liked and
the season is well under way now. There are too many people to thank individually
for their help with the content. My thanks go to all the people who have written
articles as well as the people who have sent me photographs, not all of which are in
the yearbook, however I will get some of them up on the new website. You will have
noted the very striking logo on the front cover for the 80th anniversary of the first
Nordic Folkboat. This was designed by Vesa Lindqvist from Finland and is being used
by all the Folkboat Associations.
This is going to be a very busy season in the Solent, with several events for the Jubilee
as well as the Round the Island Race (everyone will be looking out for Folkboats after
Chris Baldwick's article was picked up by the sailing press), the 100 year celebrations
at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, Folkboat Week and then the Nationals, Walcon
Cup and the Sessan Cup. If a member knows of an event that includes Folkboats
please tell me so I can put it on the web site.
I hope that as the Yearbook is digitised, links will be inserted that will take you to the
appropriate web site. This has not been a facility we have tried before, so hope it
works!
Have a great 2022 season and I hope to meet lots of you at one of the events
planned.
Nicky Henderson
