Folkboat racing
Both Nordics and British/Classsic Folkboats have very active racing programs. The Nordics race as a strict One Design Class, whilst the British built Carvel boats and Classics race as a handicap fleet. The largest fleets are in the Solent, based at Lymington, Yarmouth and the Hamble where races are held most weekends throughout the season as well as mid week evening racing . There are also Folkboat fleets on the Thames Medway, Falmouth, the Firth of Clyde as well as Folkboats racing in mixed classes at many yacht and sailing clubs all round Britain.
There are also opportunities for International competition, with events held in Europe, mostly in Germany and Scandinavia and in San Fransisco Harbour. The Folkboat Gold Cup for Nordics is held in a different country each year.
